Alice’s Embrace is a charity based in the USA which makes blankets and shawls to give to people suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. It was set up by Diane Lewis in memory of her own mam, who died from Alzheimer’s in 2011.
The pattern I’m sharing with you today is one of theirs – it’s called the Kindhearted Crochet blanket – and there’s also a shawl version of the same pattern. It would work up beautifully in a DC or Aran-weight yarn, but remember that (like most of our free crochet patterns) it’s worked using US crochet terminology.
One of these days, I’ll get around to publishing the patterns that we give out at our stitch-ins … job for the next few weeks, I think! Looking forward to seeing pictures of your blankets.
