Cwtch News – Liz and her mighty stash of squares!

Liz was featured in one of our Crafters’ Stories in May: she had decided, with the help of the Pontypridd Women’s Collective, her own blog (Unravelling me) and the SIBOL project through their group on Ravelry to make blankets from donated squares and to give them to Cwtch of Comfort.

What a fantastic idea! Many people would like to donate, but cannot make an entire blanket, so making and donating a square for others to make into blankets is such a wonderful idea.

During May, Liz received over 430 squares from all over the UK – and some from further afield in Belgium and the Netherlands: here are some pictures to whet your appetite (thank you to Liz for allowing me to use the photos from her blog)

As well as over 430 squares(I’m thrilled and absolutely amazed!) several people have made and donated blankets as well – 11 in total!

The next step will be to sew them all together: I get a feeling that there will be a stitch-in quite soon to crochet the squares together!

Thank you, Liz for your continued support – and massive thank you to everybody who has contributed in any way.
