I usually wait until a Monday to give you the news, but this is too important to wait!
Stitch-in in Ponty
The Pontypridd Women’s Collective, encouraged by Liz Jones, author of the blog Unravelling Me organised a stitch-in at the Bluebell Inn in Pontypridd last Tuesday, 29th April. Liz (whose crafter’s story will be the subject of the blog next Monday) has had the idea to collect squares, which she will then make into blankets – a wonderful idea for everybody who would like to help, but for whom a whole blanket is just too much.
They had a wonderful time, and Liz has already received lots of squares, but is wanting more.
So she, together with Pontypridd Women’s Collective, are organising another stitch-in, again at the Blueberry Inn, Market Street, Pontypridd, next Tuesday, May 12th from 5pm – 8pm. Come, bring your needles or hooks, some white or gentle pastel, gender-neutral yarn, and stitch and have a chat with others who are helping the same cause.
Cwtch on the Radio
Gaëlle, one of the knitters from the April stitch-in at the Bluebell Inn has got us a link-in with the lovely people at GTFM. I’ll be heading up there tomorrow morning to do an interview about Cwtch of Comfort – I’ll be on at some point hopefully between 10.30am and 11.30am. If you want to listen out for me, the station does have an online stream – you can find it here. I’ll put my best radio voice on!
